Changelog
- 2025/01/16: v1.3.1
- Hotfix: Fixed an issue where the add-on could not be enabled when installed as an extension.
- 2025/01/12: v1.3.0
- Added "Skinning Tools" category to the Rigging Helper menu.
- Consolidated tools that assist with weight assignments to meshes.
- New Feature: Create Weight Mesh from Bone Chain (Skinning Tools)
- Creates a weight mesh from one or multiple selected bone chains (a series of bones with parent-child relationships) in Pose Mode.
- A weight mesh is a simple mesh object with weights assigned based on the bone chain's shape.
- Transferring weights from the weight mesh to the target (more complex) mesh enables high-quality skinning efficiently.
- Create Bones from Edges:
- Moved from the "Bone Creation" category to the "Skinning Tools" category.
- Significantly enhanced for faster bone setup and skinning for skirts and similar cases.
- Chain order is now more accurately determined.
- Improved particularly for cylindrical objects such as skirts and sleeves.
- Bone direction within chains is now consistent regardless of shape.
- Fixed an issue where chain creation would fail for cases with more than 20 chains.
- For cases with over 26 chains, naming is forcibly switched to sequential numbering.
- Fixed an issue with unexpected placement when the armature's X-mirror was active, and bone names ended with "_L" or "_R."
- Renamed the operator option "Parent" to "Root Bone."
- Various other improvements.
- New Feature: Batch Apply Transforms (Modeling Helpers > Object Tools)
- Recursively applies transforms to selected objects and their child object trees.
- Useful when resizing or rotating a model and committing changes.
- Eyelid Rig Creation:
- Added the "Enable Rotation" option. When enabled, deformation bones rotate based on the control bone's rotation, allowing fine-tuning with fewer bones.
- Constraint Tools and Rig Creation Tools:
- Changed the mix mode of rotation copy constraints to "Add" (or made it selectable) for better compatibility with the VRM format add-on.
- Dual Joints:
- Removed the helper bone creation feature for consistency.
- Adjust Bone Length:
- Added absolute length adjustments alongside the existing coefficient-based adjustments.
- Rename Child Series to Match Parent:
- Changed the default naming convention from "Append" to "Blender Default."
- Improved operator panel display. "Separator" and "Zero Padding" now appear only when the naming convention is set to "Insert."
- Batch Apply Modifiers:
- Fixed an issue where internal errors occurred if a non-modifier geometry node tree (NodeTree.is_modifier = False) was used in a modifier on the target object. Such modifiers are now ignored.
- Bake Pose and Poselib to ShapeKeys:
- Added options for handling existing shape keys: "Replace," "Create," or "Skip."
- Poselib to ShapeKeys:
- Added an option to add a custom prefix to the names of created shape keys.
- Shape Key Transfer:
- Now callable from Mesh Edit Mode.
- Added "Selected Vertices Only" option. When enabled, only selected vertices are transferred.
- Prevented separation of mirror-merged vertices internally to preserve shape keys when applying mirror modifiers.
- Fixed an issue where surface deform modifiers were not removed when no valid shape keys existed in the source object for the topology-different target object's area.
- Quick Shrinkwrap:
- Removed the "Keep Modifier" option.
- Added "Protect Mirror-Merged Vertices" option. When enabled, prevents separation of vertices merged by a mirror modifier (default: On).
- Weight Transfer:
- Completely new internal algorithm for more advanced and reliable weight transfer. Especially it is more suitable for transferring from weight mesh objects created by "Create Weight Mesh from Bone Chain."
- Added the "Mix Method" option. Specifies how to write the weight values for each vertex. Default is "Blend."
- "Blend": Blend deform weights while using sum of deform weights on source vertex as an alpa value.
- "Replace": Weight values are replaced with source weights and removed if not found on source.
- "Overwrite": Equivalent to behavior of Blender's standard weight transfer.
- Made it callable for the active object even outside of redo mode (Single Mode).
- In this case, the source object must be selected in the operator option panel.
- When multiple objects are selected, it behaves as before, transferring weights from the active object to selected objects.
- Changed the default for the "Normalize Weights" option to Enabled.
- Removed "Remove Current Vertex Groups" option as it lost its meaning in the new internal algorithm.
- Shape Key Checker:
- For objects with only one shape key, the slider in the panel now displays the actual shape key value (`object.data.shape_keys.key_blocks['name'].value`) instead of an indirect control value.
- Material List:
- Fixed an issue where errors occurred if a material preview (Material.preview) was unavailable.
- Fixed an error caused by the presence of unused materials when updating the list.
- Fixed an error when a material assigned to non-mesh objects existed.

- 2024/12/05: v1.2.0
- New Feature: Added "Transfer Shape Keys" operator in Mesh Edit tools. Transfers shape keys from the active object to selected objects.
- The target object must have vertices that correspond 1:1 to the source object.
- As long as the target object has a valid shape key, the transfer is possible even for objects with fewer vertices.
- Only valid shape keys on the target object are transferred.
- Like other operators, the redo mode is available when selecting a single object for re-execution.
- Temporal Shrinkwrap and Quick Shrinkwrap:
- Adjusted the internal code to achieve more reliable operation.
- Quick Shrinkwrap:
- Temporarily turns off non-mirror modifiers on the target object during processing.
- Improved the option UI to visualize which shape key to operate on.
- Decal Creation and Rearrangement:
- Greatly improved decal creation and adjustment for objects with shape keys.
- Decal objects are always placed based on the base shape of the target object.
- Shape keys on the target object are also created on the decal object.
- Added a feature to synchronize shape keys when rearranging.
- Only valid for meshes where the base shape vertex positions correspond 1:1 to the mesh vertices to be wrapped.
- Only shape keys that are valid for mutation on the decal object are created and synchronized.
- Does not affect shape keys unique to the decal object.
- Batch Apply Modifiers:
- Improved the feature to reduce situations where the number of vertices changes due to specific shape keys (separation of merged vertices on the mirror axis) on objects with Mirror modifiers and shape keys, achieving more reliable operation.
- Internal:
- Enhanced context management when executing operators to ensure that the editing state of objects and the selection of objects are reliably restored after execution.
- Image List: Improved the automatic update process and reduced the load.

- New Feature: Added Quick Shrinkwrap
. In Mesh Edit Mode, quickly wrap selected vertices to the target object. Internally uses the Shrinkwrap modifier. Only affects the active shape key, and does not affect other shapes.
- With the Propagate to Shape Keys
option, changes to the shape are propagated to the shape keys as if you manually edited the Basis shape (Only when the Basis shape is the target).
- With the Preserve Modifiers
option, the Shrinkwrap modifier remains after the operator
- 2024/11/26: v1.1.2
- Batch Modifiers generic: The operator distinguishes geometry node modifiers by node tree. You can specify which node tree modifier to process on the option panel.

- 2024/07/23: v1.0.18
- All of operators which applies Modifiers: Fixed the situation where shape keys are lost or corrupted when applying Mirror Modifiers with vertex merge enabled.
- For example, on a mesh mirrored along the X-axis, if a vertex that is within the merge threshold in the base shape is outside the threshold in the shape key, when the Mirror Modifier is applied, it becomes a new vertex, and the shape cannot be integrated due to the mismatch in the number of vertices. With this feature enhancement, the corresponding vertex on the shape is moved to a position where it is merged, preventing the shape from being lost.
- When this process is performed, a warning is displayed in the information window. If the shape is not as intended, it is recommended to undo the operation and check the shape key's shape.
- For modifiers other than Mirror that cause shape key vertex count mismatch, the shape key content is simply lost, and the process continues. Such shape keys are appended with "_LOST" after the name after processing.
- For example, modifiers such as Solidify (with vertex merge enabled) and Remesh are prone to shape key vertex count changes, making shape keys easily lost.
